AEW Dynamite Results (01/22): Nassau, Bahamas

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite opens up with an intro video.

Commentary then welcomes us to the show, points out that we are on a boat as this is the Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager At Sea edition of AEW Dynamite and discusses all of the matches and segments that will be taking place on the show.

The Elite (”Hangman” Adam Page and Kenny Omega) and the AEW World Tag Team Champions SCU (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) then make their entrances for the opening match of the evening.

The Elite (”Hangman” Adam Page and Kenny Omega) def. the AEW World Tag Team Champions SCU (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) via pinfall with a Buck Shot Lariat from “Hangman” Adam Page on Frankie Kazarian to win the AEW World Tag Team Titles. After the match, The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) make their way out to celebrate. “Hangman” Adam Page then leaves the ring and drinks some beer with the fans. The crowd then lifts up Page as he drinks some more beer. The Young Bucks then look mildly annoyed as Page ends up getting moved all the way out to the stage. Kenny Omega then points to his partner and nods his head.

We then get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D def. Priscilla Kelly via submission with a Lockjaw. After the match, Tony Schiavone makes his way into the ring to interview Britt Baker. Schiavone says that the ending of the match was questionable, but it was a good win nonetheless. Baker then takes the mic and says that she doesn’t need him to judge her and that he is a good guy. Baker then says that before Tony worked for AEW he was just a “s—ty barista at Starbucks.” Tony then mouths “What the f—.” The crowd then boos. Baker then tells the crowd that she is a role model (and a dentist). Baker then says that she is the best looking woman on the boat. Baker then keeps talking trash to Schiavone, but Jim Ross ends the segment and sends us to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get a recap of last month’s one-on-one match between “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry and AEW World Champion Chris Jericho.

We then get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

The Inner Circle (AEW World Champion Chris Jericho, Santana and Ortiz) def. Jurassic Express (“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry, Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt) via pinfall with the Judas Effect from AEW World Champion Chris Jericho on Marko Stunt.

We then get a video package recapping the feud between MJF and Cody Rhodes.

MJF then makes his entrance for the next match of the evening to send us to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and the next match of the evening is underway.

MJF def. “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela via pinfall with a Double Cross. After the match, MJF grabs a microphone. MJF tells the crowd that they love him and they definitely love Cody. MJF then says that last week Cody was pretty much a poet with his words. MJF then brings up Cody saying that he was just another chapter in Cody’s book, but MJF lets Cody know that he will be the last one. Cody’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. MJF then tells Cody to not come any closer. MJF then reminds Cody that he can’t touch him, or all bets are off. MJF then makes fun of Cody’s lisp. MJF then says that he knows Cody wants to talk and drops the mic as Cody goes to take it. Cody then goes to pick it up and MJF kicks it away. MJF then heads up the ramp. Cody then says that MJF is right, he can’t touch him, but Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson can. The Young Bucks then sneak up from behind and double superkick MJF. Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson then take MJF over to the pool and throw him into it. As soon as MJF makes a splash into the pool, The Young Bucks laugh and point at him.

We then get a video package hyping up the cruise to send us to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and Tony Schiavone interviews “Hangman” Adam Page and Kenny Omega.

Kenny Omega says that they did something special today and couldn’t be happier. Page (with a drink in hand) then says, “When I said I’m gonna whoop both their ass, I’m gonna whoop their asses.” Schiavone then goes right back to Omega and asks him about PAC. Omega says that in time he will give PAC his match, but the titles are his priority. Page then seems slightly bothered. The Young Bucks then roll in and celebrate with Omega and give Page accolades as well. Page then says that he is surprised they won the titles before the Young Bucks did and heads off. The Young Bucks then seem a bit annoyed. Omega then tries to smooth it over a bit.

Commentary then hypes up next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

AEW World Champion Chris Jericho then joins commentary for the main event of the evening.

PAC then makes his entrance for the main event of the evening to send us to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and the main event of the evening is underway.

Jon Moxley def. PAC via pinfall with a Paradigm Shift to become #1 Contender to Chris Jericho’s AEW World Title. After the match, AEW World Champion Chris Jericho stares at Jon Moxley from a distance and holds up the title as the show comes to a close.
