AEW Dynamite Results (04/01): Undisclosed Location

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite opens up with Tony Schiavone welcoming us to the show. Cody Rhodes and Cody Rhodes’ dog, Pharaoh, is at ringside with him. A few AEW Stars is at ringside as well such as Kip Sabian, Jimmy Havoc, Gunn Club (Billy Gun and Austin Gunn), Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D and Penelope Ford as they are part of the audience. Dasha Gonzalez is in charge of ring announcing duties.

The other two quarterfinal matches for AEW’s inaugural TNT Championship Tournament are announced. Kip Sabian will be facing Dustin Rhodes and Lance Archer will be battling Colt Cabana. The TNT Championship Tournament will start next week.

We then get the entrances for the first match of the evening.

Kenny Omega def. Trent via pinfall with One-Winged Angel. After the match, Kenny Omega helps Trent up and they shake hands.




We then get a video package recapping Matt Hardy’s AEW career so far as well as Hardy’s confrontations with Chris Jericho.

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get a video package hyping Hikaru Shida up.

We then get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

Hikaru Shida def. Anna Jayy via pinfall with a Falcon Arrow. After the match, Hikaru Shida stares Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D down. Britt Baker then talks trash to Shida while eating a sandwich. Shida then kicks the barricade. Baker now has a shoe in the other hand to keep Shida away.

Kip Sabian then takes a selfie while the two are still jaw-jacking each other. Shida then heads over to the other side to gather her entrance gear and head to the back.



We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and Cody Rhodes and Tony Schiavone talk about Jon Moxley’s issues with the Inner Circle and recap those issues with video footage.

We then get a video package recapping the feud between AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and Jake Hager.

A hype reel for the Empty Arena No Holds Barred Match between Jon Moxley and Jake Hager then follows.

Jake Hager says that Moxley is a fool if he thinks he can compete with Hager. Hager then says that Moxley holding the title doesn’t scare him at all. Moxley then says that he is pissed off and he knows a lot of people want the title. Moxley then says that he realizes he has a big target on his back and he is pissed because others want to take the title away from him.

Chris Jericho then says that Moxley talks about everything he does is for the fans, unlike the Inner Circle, they do everything for themselves. Moxley then says that he knows Hager well, and he isn’t afraid of him, but he understands the skills that Hager possesses. Hager then says that he knows Moxley isn’t as strong as him and isn’t as ruthless as he is.

Sammy Guevara then notes that Hager is undefeated in MMA and in AEW. Moxley then says that he knows the Inner Circle wants the title back, so he went after Hager since he was most likely coming for him anyways. Jericho then says that he has a rematch coming against Moxley, but he is letting Hager do his thing. Jericho then says that the Inner Circle isn’t like the Elite (drinking on the job, hitting each other with their finishers) they win championships. It will be Jon Moxley defending the title against Jake Hager in an Empty Arena No Holds Barred Match in two weeks.

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and Colt Cabana joins Tony Schiavone on commentary.

We then get a promo from Jake “The Snake” Roberts who says that his client, Lance Archer, is about to come out and destroy whatever AEW has cooked up. Roberts then says that AEW is playing games, and they don’t play games. Roberts then tells Cody he might be smarter than he thought and is actually afraid, or, maybe it’s Brandi Rhodes telling him not to get in the ring as she seems like the one who wears the pants.

We then get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

Lance Archer def. Marko Stunt via pinfall with Blackout. After the match, Lance Archer comes back to the ring and sends Marko Stunt into the crowd onto a couple of other wrestlers.

Archer then leaves the building. Colt Cabana and Tony Schiavone then talk about the match and Cabana’s first-round tournament match against Lance Archer for next week as the babyfaces check on Stunt.

We then get a video vignette of the Dark Order’s Exalted One Brodie Lee. Brodie Lee is in a suit as he stands in front of a table with the rest of the Dark Order looking on.

Brodie Lee says that during these scary and unprecedented times, he understands how we feel. Brodie Lee then says that at one point he was scared and beaten down, but no longer. Brodie Lee then says that he has one minion who says “Thank you, Mr. Lee.”

Brodie Lee then says, “It’s Mr. Brodie.” The minion then says, “Sorry, Exalted One.” Brodie Lee then angrily says “It’s Mr. Brodie!” Another minion then yawns, Brodie Lee sits and gets in the guy’s face. Brodie Lee then asks if there is something going on at home to make the person yawn.

Brodie Lee then says tiredness shows weakness and he can’t have that in these doors. Brodie Lee then tells them to never yawn in his presence again. Lee then boots the guy out of the room.

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

The Natural Nightmares (Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall) def. the Dark Order (8 and 9) via pinfall with a Dominator / sliding Ace Crusher combination. After the match, Brodie Lee heads out to the ring. The Natural Nightmares then give him a look, but he ends up going into the ring. Lee then hits a big powerbomb on one of the minions. Lee then looks over at the other one, who slinks to the corner. Lee then heads to the back.



We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get a video package from Chris Jericho.

Chris Jericho is hanging out in the Jacuzzi. Jericho says that today is a holiday, April Fool’s Day and he has never seen a bunch of fools like the Elite. Jericho then runs down the entire group, making fun of each guy, including Matt Hardy.

From the skies comes Vanguard 1. Jericho says that once things get back to normal, they will still have to face the Inner Circle in a Blood And Guts Match. Jericho finally hears Vanguard 1. Jericho then says that he wanted to apologize for what he said to it last week. Jericho then says that he still wants Vanguard 1 in the Inner Circle and offers up a tiny t-shirt. Jericho then hooks it to Vanguard 1, but the drone flies away. Jericho then throws his bottle of bubbly at it. Jericho then releases his dogs and chases after them, yelling “I’m going to get you!”

Commentary then hypes up the TNT Championship Tournament.

A video update on Nick Jackson then follows.

Matt Jackson is training with Nick Jackson to make sure he is staying in ring shape after being attacked by the Inner Circle. Nick Jackson has been out for the past couple of weeks when they dropped a loading dock door on him. Matt Jackson says that it was really difficult to watch someone he loves get hurt and didn’t know what to think at the time.

Nick Jackson then says that he wasn’t sure what happened, he didn’t know who took him out or being in an ambulance. Matt and Nick Jackson then do some training in the ring. Nick Jackson then says that a return day is hard to say right now.

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get the entrances for the main event of the evening.

Sammy Guevara and Shawn Spears def. Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin via pinfall with a schoolboy pin and a handful of tights from Spears on Darby Allin. After the match, Cody Rhodes tries to help Darby Allin up, but Darby Allin doesn’t want any help. Cody Rhodes Then keeps trying, then Darby Allin clocks Cody Rhodes and leaves the ring. The show then comes to a close.
