“Honestly, I think my relationship with Gail [Kim], and I put Gail over in every interview, but I can’t help it because I think my relationship with her has definitely changed not just my career, but my life.”

Mia Yim also mentioned during the interview that IMPACT Hall of Famer Gail Kim is someone she watched growing up and Gail was the only Asian wrestler at the time that could really go.

This is what Mia Yim said:

“She is someone that I watched growing up. She was the only Asian wrestler that I saw that could go. I felt her presence, her energy through the TV screen.”

Mia Yim made her professional wrestling debut in August of 2009 and competed on the Indie scene for a few years prior to signing with IMPACT Wrestling in 2015 under the ring name Jade. Mia Yim would then leave IMPACT Wrestling and sign with the WWE in 2018 as part of the NXT roster after competing in the 2017 and 2018 Mae Young Classic.
