In a landmark shift in professional wrestling, IMPACT Wrestling has announced the signing of Pierre Carl Ouellet, known as PCO in the ring, marking the first official contract inked for the “new era” of TNA Wrestling. The confirmation comes as IMPACT Wrestling gears up for a rebranding as TNA Wrestling from January 13, 2024, a move that was initially publicized at the widely celebrated Bound For Glory spectacle.
Company president Scott D’Amore proudly broke the news, revealing that PCO, a notable victor at the 4-person Monsters Ball match at the 2023 Bound For Glory event in Chicago, was the first to officially come on board. The terms of the contract remain undisclosed, but given the monumental changes coming to the popular wrestling franchise, it’s safe to say that PCO is pivotal in the plans going forward.
“I really wanted to be part of the new era of TNA Wrestling and Scott D’Amore made me an offer I could not refuse,” PCO, the former WWF Tag Team Champion, said, highlighting his enthusiasm for the transition.
The rebranding involves a return to the company’s iconic Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling moniker, kicking off with its January 2024 pay-per-view special ‘Hard To Kill’. This event will take place at the Palms Casino Resort near Las Vegas’s renowned Strip, marking a novel location for the company’s PPV special.
The Hard To Kill PPV is slated for the night of Saturday, January 13, with an additional night of thrilling wrestling – the Snake Eyes Extravaganza Show – on Sunday, January 14 at The Palms. The Sunday extravaganza will be recorded to air on iMPACT, the company’s flagship weekly TV show broadcasted every Thursday night on AXS TV at 8 p.m. EST.
PCO initially made his comeback to IMPACT Wrestling with the 2022 Hard To Kill PPV. However, in September 2023, it was reported that he intended to leave IMPACT Wrestling when his contract ended in October 2023. It appears the exciting revamp was enough to convince PCO, who also held the WCW Hardcore Championship and has several other titles to his name, to remain. As TNA Wrestling begins a new chapter, we’ll be watching closely to see what else unfolds beneath the wrestling spotlight.
