Rich Swann Makes History At Sacrifice, Omega Main Event Set

This past Saturday night’s IMPACT Wrestling Sacrifice Event saw Rich Swann make history as he did not only retain his IMPACT World Title by winning a Title vs. Title Unification Match, but he also became the TNA World Heavyweight Champion, thus being the first champion in IMPACT history to unify both the IMPACT World and TNA World Heavyweight Championships and being the first double World Champion.

Rich Swann won the match via pinfall after escaping Moose’s third attempt of the Lights Out finisher, moving out of the way to send the former TNA World Champion crashing shoulder-first into a chair that was set up in between the middle and top rope, then securing the pinfall victory. Rich Swann has been the IMPACT World Champion for 136+ days after beating Eric Young at last year’s Bound For Glory PPV.

Moose has been the TNA World Heavyweight Champion since he brought back the championship belt at last year’s Rebellion even though it wasn’t officially sanctioned by IMPACT Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore this past month.

Due to his win, Rich Swann will now go on to Rebellion to take on AEW World Champion Kenny Omega in a Title vs. Title Match at the show’s main event on Saturday, April 24th. Kenny Omega just retained his AEW World Title against Jon Moxley in an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch at Revolution. Rich Swann’s match against Kenny Omega at IMPACT’s Rebellion will be the second main event match the two will face each other in.

Kenny almost certainly won’t be putting up the AEW title. That will be a swerve. The match will be the Impact championship vs. the AAA Mega Championship. And Rich will probably win.
