Will Ospreay Reveals He Almost Died From Kidney Infection

Top NJPW Star and pro wrestling veteran Will Ospreay, who is the reigning IWGP United States Champion and the reigning RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion, was out of action from May 15 – June 8 due to a kidney infection, which would result in him missing a number of shows for NJPW, RevPro and Warrior Wrestling. Ospreay recently took to Twitter and revealed that the reason for him being out of in-ring action for that period of time is due to the infection he had back in May and he would nearly die as a result of the infection.

Since recovering from the infection, Ospreay defeated SANADA at the NJPW New Japan Dominion PPV Event to become the IWGP United States Champion. He would also defeat Orange Cassidy at Forbidden Door in a match for his IWGP United States Championship. Ospreay would then emerge as the winner of the D Block in the G1 Climax 32 Tournament, before beating Tetsuya Naito in the G1 Climax 32 Tournament semifinal round on Wednesday to advance to the finals later tonight to face Kazuchika Okada.
