Backstage News On Brian Pillman Jr.’s Status With The WWE

There were reports this past week that former AEW Star Brian Pillman Jr. was seen training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida on Thursday last week and since then, fans started speculating what his status is with the WWE after Brian Pillman Jr.’s recent departure from AEW when his contract with the company expired and his profile was removed from AEW’s roster page on the company’s official website.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Pillman Jr. is still a free agent after his deal with AEW expired earlier this month and despite WWE having immediate interest in Brian Pillman Jr. when he became available, Pillman Jr. has yet to sign with WWE and was told that what he is doing resembles a bit of a getting to know you process or meeting. The report also notes that they were told that a lot of people the WWE is bringing in are being kept close to the vest, although Brian Pillman Jr. doesn’t fall under this because people have already seen him at the WWE PC and he was really visible.

Pillman Jr. spent three years in All Elite Wrestling, where he was paired with Griff Garrison as part of the Varsity Blonds and they mostly worked on AEW Dark and Dark: Elevation. Brian had been vocal in past interviews on Julia Hart being taken out of the Varsity Blonds stable and being put in The House of Black.
