Backstage News On The Reception CM Punk Got On RAW

As previously reported, former two-time AEW World Champion and WWE Champion CM Punk made his shocking return to the WWE immediately following the Men’s WarGames main event matchup at this past Saturday’s 2023 Survivor Series: WarGames Event from Chicago. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select then stated that everyone including producers, referees, staff, talent and even head writers on the creative team were not told about CM Punk’s return and that has led to a number of talents on the roster being generally upset, but there are some who are excited and curious about it.

Following the shocking return of CM Punk to WWE this past Saturday night at Survivor Series: WarGames from Chicago, The Best In The World made his appearance on RAW this past Monday for the first time in 10 years to address the WWE Universe. During the promo, Punk said that his reception backstage in WWE was all love and everybody in the back was happy to see him and that it was like a family reunion.

PWTorch.com reports that what Punk said was true as he tried to approach everybody and was very nice, humble and in a good mood. It was also mentioned on the report that when asking around whether people are skeptical of Punk being so nice and humble at this point, one talent said yes and estimated about half of the wrestlers backstage have doubts if this is sustainable. Another talent also said that the former WWE Champion knew he kinda had to be nice, while another wrestler said Punk seemed humbled and pretty positive all around, but we’ll see in a couple of months if it sticks.
