Bray Wyatt Was Close To Debuting For AEW Before WWE Return

Prior to his unfortunate and tragic passing, Bray Wyatt was initially released from WWE in the summer of 2021 following his WrestleMania 37 loss to WWE legend Randy Orton. It was a shocking release that shook the very foundation of sports entertainment/pro wrestling as he was seen as a massive Superstar. He would then make his WWE return at last year’s WWE Extreme Rules Premium Live Event, but it was stated on several reports that Vince McMahon didn’t like him personally and would shout derogatory things at Wyatt about his physique. Wyatt was also labelled as having a bad attitude because he would turn down creative plans quite often.

Bray Wyatt’s return to the WWE at last year’s WWE Extreme Rules Premium Live Event had one of, if not the biggest buzz in history and left the WWE Universe in awe. His segments and entrances left the WWE Universe enticed and Wyatt has had a huge mark on the company since, but this past March, Wyatt would be taken out due to an illness and any storylines he had as well as future plans and momentum came to a screeching halt.

Dave Meltzer stated on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that All Elite Wrestling and several other pro wrestling promotions were interested in bringing in Wyatt and things got really close to Bray Wyatt debuting for AEW that their broadcast partner, TNT, was even told about his debut date. Meltzer then noted that negotiation talks with AEW fell through as it was believed to be money-related and promotions such as IMPACT Wrestling, AAA and Japanese companies were interested in Wyatt.
