Davey Boy Smith Jr. Undergoes Emergency Surgery, Draws Attention to Appendicitis and Diverticulitis Risks

In heart-wrenching news from the pro wrestling universe, Davey Boy Smith Jr. – the son of beloved WWE Hall of Famer, the British Bulldog – has recently undergone emergency colon and appendix surgery. The decorated sports entertainer announced this incident on his social media, captivating the wrestling fandom with a gripping fable of his ongoing battle against appendicitis and diverticulitis.

Smith Jr., real name Harry Smith, re-signed with WWE in 2021 after a stint wrestling in the independents. However, he only participated in a single dark match under this new contract. Since then, he has been prominently competing in Major League Wrestling (MLW), where he was scheduled to challenge Alex Kane for the brand’s World Title this weekend. Regrettably, this illness has forced Smith Jr. to withdraw from the highly anticipated match-up.

In his heartful Instagram post, Smith Jr. described the tale of his diagnosis and surgery – initially expected to be appendicitis, surgeons discovered diverticulitis, which necessitated the removal of a part of his colon along with his appendix.

Smith Jr.’s candid admission revealed the grueling ordeal he had to endure, describing it as “one of the most painful experiences of my life.” He also warned his followers of the serious complications that might arise from a burst appendix.

Smith Jr. expressed his disappointment for having to withdraw from the approaching MLW Slaughterhouse event but reassured his legion of fans that this was a hurdle he was committed to overcoming.

Drawing on this life-altering experience, Smith Jr. radiated positivity and gratitude, even in his dire state, thanking everyone who reached out to him. He reassured his avid followers that despite his condition causing him great pain, he is making steady progress towards recovery.

The wrestling community extends heartfelt wishes to Smith Jr. for a speedy recovery and awaits his triumphant return to the ring. He promises to continue sharing his journey, shedding light on his battle with these health issues, and hopefully encouraging fans to prioritise their health and well-being.

The question now resonating between the ropes is whether Davey Boy Smith Jr. will consider a return to WWE in the future. But for now, let’s wish him all the strength and power in his fight against these health woes! Your opinions and best wishes for Smith Jr. are welcome in the comments below.
