WWE Hall of Famer “The Rated R Superstar” Edge revealed on WWE TV last year that he wanted to end his legendary in-ring career this year at a show in his hometown of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and that WWE show just so happened to take place on a recent episode of WWE SmackDown, where the Rated R Superstar faced Sheamus in a Singles Match and celebrated his 25th year in the wrestling business.
Edge’s WWE contract reportedly expired this September, with the final matchup in his most current WWE deal taking place on that episode of SmackDown, when he defeated Sheamus in Singles action and it has since been speculated where he will end up.
Dave Meltzer revealed on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that just like with Drew McIntyre and LA Knight, WWE Hall of Famer Edge is also far apart on money with the WWE for a new deal and this was something that was brought up when discussing Jade Cargill being far apart on money with AEW and her expected arrival in WWE. Meltzer also noted that even though WWE has a lot of money, they are running a business and they have an idea of a salary scale despite having the resources that can give them the luxury to bring anyone in as some of the guys want more or think they deserve more, but WWE already has a mental salary scale of what people in certain positions should get.
WWE Hall of Famer “The Rated R Superstar” Edge was removed the company’s internal roster, but WWE.com still has him listed as an active performer. Edge took to his Twitter (X) and commented on the report that WWE declined to meet his contract request and that he is AEW-bound, but a number of people still believe that The Rated R Superstar could end up in AEW and he could be reunited with his longtime tag team partner and friend Christian Cage.
