Edge Could Be Competing In His Last Match On WWE SmackDown

WWE Hall of Famer “The Rated R Superstar” Edge revealed on WWE TV last year that he wanted to end his legendary in-ring career this 2023 at a show in his hometown of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and that WWE show just so happens to be this coming Friday’s episode of SmackDown on FOX. Edge would then be asked about those comments and seemed to be unsure what his response would be this time around, but he said he is only sure about his retirement match happening in Canada, just not sure if that matchup will be happening this Friday.

Last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown saw WWE Hall of Famer Edge and “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus take part in an in-ring segment to setup their match on SmackDown this coming Friday, which is also Edge’s 25th year celebration in the business. The segment would feature a footage being shown of The Rated R Superstar’s bike wreck on Sheamus’ Celtic Workout session, which would ultimately lead to The Rated R Superstar returning to in-ring action after 9 years.

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that this Friday’s WWE SmackDown could end up being Edge’s last match and Edge’s trainer has also said that this is probably the WWE Hall of Famer’s last match, but it was not built or teased as a retirement match and Edge may want to keep his retirement match a secret.
