Triple H recently took over the WWE’s creative and since then a lot of big changes have happened such as several former WWE Stars being brought back, an improvement in the storylines including booking of the matches and the characters and professional wrestling fans being excited again. Talents that have been brought back include Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Bayley, Dakota Kai, IYO SKY, Hit Row, Dexter Lumis and Johnny Gargano, but it seems that a former WWE Champion could be making his return to the company as well.
Fightful Select reports that there have been discussions on former WWE Champion Braun Strowman making his return to the company, but there’s no word yet on if negotiations have been made or how far their talks have gone and what storylines or pitches have been discussed for Braun to be involved in. There was also a mention that people of influence in the company didn’t confirm nor deny any talks that may have happened with Strowman.
Braun Strowman re-signed with the WWE in 2019, with his deal reportedly being a massive seven-figure, multi-year contract that paled in comparison to some of the newer contracts the WWE has been offering over the past year or so and that was done in order to prevent him from going to AEW. During the last few months of his contract, Braun Strowman was reportedly playing “hardball” during negotiations, but he would end up being released from the WWE back on June 2, 2021, along with other budget cuts.
Since being released from the WWE last year, several Indie talents have told Fightful that Strowman’s comments have rubbed them the wrong way, but the talents are not even sure if Braun really meant what he said or if he just wanted to get heat. WWE sources then said that Strowman is looking “ring ready” physically and that he looks better now than when he was still with the company.
There’s no word yet on when Braun Strowman could be making his return to the WWE, but updates will be provided once it has been made available. Strowman has recently competed in 8 matchups, most of which is for the Control Your Narrative (CYN) promotion with EC3. Karrion Kross was also involved with CYN, but he returned to the WWE several weeks back.
