This past Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown, which had a Christmas theme, featured several huge segments and matchups including the promotion’s holiday tradition known as the Miracle On 34th Street Fight in the main event and Bray Wyatt addressing the fans following the surprise appearance of Uncle Howdy. Since his return to the WWE, Wyatt has been booked as a top Superstar, but he has yet to be in a match and the company has been careful with booking him and not overexposing him on television.
A segment took place on WWE SmackDown this past Friday night, where Bray Wyatt talked about how he is not Uncle Howdy before having a mental breakdown and attacking a cameraman. Wyatt would then grab the cameraman and lay him out with a mandible claw. The cameraman who was attacked by Bray has since been revealed as none other than JT Energy, who has been a professional wrestler for six years and who has been trained by top WWE Superstar Seth Rollins. JT took to his Twitter account and commented on being attacked by Bray Wyatt on SmackDown by writing, “I may never been the same again after being attacked by Bray Wyatt on Smackdown.”
The main event of WWE SmackDown then saw Ricochet and Braun Strowman take on Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci in a Miracle On 34th Street Fight. The bout featured Christmas trees, gift-wrapped steel chairs, giant candy cane kendo sticks and two massive gift boxes, one of which had NXT Tag Team Champions The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) and the other saw a ballerina emerge as Kaiser and Vinci opened it. The ballerina has since been revealed as none other than top Indie talent Ashley D’Amboise, who has competed for AEW on a number of occasions and who has made an appearance on RAW as well as on SmackDown this past April.
