WWE’s next Premium Live Event known as SummerSlam is set to take place tomorrow, August 5 inside Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, with the Premium Live Event set to air on Peacock in the U.S. and the WWE Network everywhere else. Tomorrow’s WWE SummerSlam Event will feature 4 main event matches, including Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns putting his Undisputed WWE Universal Title on the line against Jey Uso in a Tribal Combat Match and Brock Lesnar facing “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes in Singles action.
Even though majority of the matches have already been announced for tomorrow’s WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event, it looks like WWE has some suprises up their sleeves as several notable names will likely be in Detroit, Michigan during SummerSlam weekend. A few of these talents appearing during SummerSlam weekend will likely just be visiting friends backstage like WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker, while a number of other talents could be filming something for Peacock.
According to PWInsider.com, former WWE NXT Champion Bobby Roode was spotted in Detroit ahead of WWE’s SummerSlam Event, but there’s no word yet on why he was brought in as The Glorious One isn’t expected to be cleared for in-ring competition anytime soon. Booby Roode signed with the WWE in 2016, where he found a lot of success becoming the WWE NXT Champion, the WWE United States Champion, the WWE RAW Tag Team Champions with Chad Gable on two occasions and WWE legend Dolph Ziggler on one occasion and the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions with Dolph Ziggler.
Roode has been on the shelf since last June, when he worked with Omos at a WWE house show. He has not competed since due to a neck injury and he even had his C5 and C6 vertebrae fused this past year. The Glorious One would also suffer another setback in his recovery earlier this year as he had to get his C4 and C5 fused.
