Internal Reaction Within MLW On Lawsuit Settlement With WWE

MLW (Major League Wrestling) initially filed a lawsuit against WWE this past year, which had a number of allegations against WWE such as the company violating the Sherman Antitrust Act in the U.S. market for pro wrestling content, the WWE attempting to undermine the competition regarding MLW’s pursuit of media distribution deals and WWE trying to hire contracted talent away from the company.

This lawsuit was amended in March, but WWE’s deal with Peacock allegedly contributed to its antitrust case as it kept non-WWE wrestling content off the service, including REELZ, a platform that aired MLW Underground at the time. WWE and MLW has recently reached a settlement in their antitrust lawsuit and it will officially be settled within the next 30 days, pending some paperwork.

According to PWInsider.com, there is a lot of happiness within MLW, especially among the wrestlers as they found out about the settlement and the hope is the promotion can now move forward with finding a new TV deal and focus on the future instead of the legal battle. It was also noted on the report that MLW owner Court Bauer had mentioned to talent at a show last week in New York City that announcements would be coming and that he wants to run more shows next year in newer and older markets.
