John Cena Set To Appear On The Final WWE SmackDown Of 2022

WWE legend John Cena is considered by many as one of the greatest, if not the greatest Superstar ever and his 16 World Championships as well as his more than 20 years on top of the pro wrestling business is concrete proof of that. Cena was last seen on WWE TV on an episode of WWE Monday Night RAW in June when he celebrated his 20th anniversary with the company and he would be introduced by Vince McMahon.

It was also on that night when the 16-time World Champion was expected to announce his WWE SummerSlam Match with Austin Theory, but that didn’t happen as Cena instead revealed that he wasn’t sure when he would be wrestling again. According to Variety, John Cena is set to appear on the final WWE SmackDown episode of the year, which will be taking place on Friday, December 30th from inside the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

During the time that Cena has been away from WWE, he has continued to focus on his acting career when he starred in HBO Max’s DC series “Peacemaker,” reprising the role he played in James Gunn’s “Suicide Squad.” It was previously reported that Cena is expected to compete at WWE WrestleMania 39, but there is no word yet on who he will be facing or if the match has already been set in stone, though updates will be provided once it has been made available.
