John Cena Takes On A New Project With Idris Elba

John Cena is taking on a new project, as he signed on alongside Idris Elba to star in Ilya Naishuller’s next project. The director of Nobody, Naishuller, is set to produce the film. The Hollywood Reporter reported that Amazon Studios picked up the rights to Heads of State during a competitive Zoom presentation in October 2020.

DC Studios, the Safran Company, Harrison Query, and Josh Appelbaum of My Wife and I Bought a Ranch have all been involved in producing this movie. The new movie is said to be similar to the president’s Air Force One helicopter. In it, you have an unlikely pair who are in way over their heads and trying to escape a high-stakes situation.

The current WWE champion, who is also the former world champion, has just finished shooting various films, like The Independent, Snafu, Coyote v. Acme, Argylle, and Freelance. Currently he’s filming Honeymoon Friends.

While his return to the ring is not clear at this moment, there were rumors that he would be a part of WrestleMania 39 in a storyline involving Austin Theory. It would be interesting to see if he is able to return to the ring at or around Showcase of the Immortals.
