Legendary Pro Wrestling Promoter Jerry Jarrett Has Passed Away

Legendary pro wrestling promoter Jerry Jarrett, father of WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett has recently passed away. The news of Jerry Jarrett’s unfortunate passing was first revealed via the Facebook page of Mark James’ Memphis Wrestling History.

Jerry Jarrett, who started working in the wrestling business at the age of 7 by selling pro wrestling programs, is one of the most influential people in the history of the wrestling business. Jerry would then eventually work as a referee and a professional wrestler and work his way up to promoting Memphis wrestling for decades. Jerry was said to have been the person to take over for Vince McMahon in the WWE if Vince would have been convicted in the steroid distribution trial in the 90s.

Jerry Jarrett and Jeff Jarrett would then eventually launch TNA Wrestling in 2002, which is now known as IMPACT Wrestling. Jerry’s passing is a huge loss in the wrestling business and we send our deepest condolences to the Jarrett family.
