News On The Type Of Match Planned For Top SummerSlam Bout

WWE’s next Premium Live Event known as SummerSlam is set to take place this Saturday, August 5 inside Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan and the company is looking to stack the card from top to bottom, with reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns putting his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line against Jey Uso in a Tribal Combat Match as one of the show’s main event matches.

The promotion has already confirmed several matches for Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam Event such as Brock Lesnar facing “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes in a Singles Match, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins putting his WWE World Heavyweight Title on the line against The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Logan Paul taking on Ricochet in a Singles Match. WWE recently confirmed another match for this Saturday’s SummerSlam Premium Live Event and that match will see Ronda Rousey take on Shayna Baszler in Women’s Division Singles action.

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that he was told the idea for the Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler Match is not a street fight, but more of an MMA rules type of match, which makes perfect sense since both athletes have extensive MMA backgrounds.
