“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes and “The Beast” Brock Lesnar has had one hell of a rivalry since the WWE Monday Night RAW episode following last April’s WrestleMania 39, when Brock brutally attacked Cody and left him laying, which would be the first time since 2020 that Lesnar portrayed a heel. Cody Rhodes would end up winning their first encounter, which took place at WWE Backlash from Puerto Rico, while Brock would come out victorious in their second encounter, which was held at Night Of Champions from Saudi Arabia.
Cody and Lesnar faced each other for a third and final time at WWE SummerSlam from Detroit, Michigan, which saw The American Nightmare pick up a massive win over The Beast. The matchup ended after Rhodes reversed Lesnar’s F5 and hit The Beast with multiple Cross Rhodes. After the match, Brock would shake Cody’s hands, hug The American Nightmare and raise his arm.
The Beast” Brock Lesnar has not appeared on WWE TV since earlier this month’s WWE SummerSlam, but he was originally expected to make his in-ring return to the company at their upcoming Fastlane Event on October 7th, however, that will no longer be happening as Brock is expected to take time off from WWE for the remainder of the year.
Dave Meltzer stated on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the current plan is for Lesnar to return to television prior to the 2024 WWE Royal Rumble Event as he will be building up towards the show as well as for WrestleMania 40. There is a chance that the company brings Brock back later this year as WWE will be holding their second Saudi Arabia show of the year in November and The Beast usually competes when the company holds a show in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
