News On When Drew McIntyre Is Expected To Return To Action

Top WWE SmackDown Star Drew McIntyre was originally set to compete at tomorrow night’s episode of the show from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, where he and “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus was set to challenge the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos for their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles, but McIntyre was pulled from the show.

Drew McIntyre took to his Twitter account and revealed that he is not medically cleared to compete on WWE SmackDown tomorrow night, but there is no word yet on the reason why McIntyre was pulled from the show or the exact injury he is suffering from, though updates will be given once it’s made available. It was confirmed however that McIntyre is suffering from a legitimate medical issue and this isn’t an angle of some sort for the storylines.

Dave Meltzer mentioned on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that Drew McIntyre is definitely injured, but he was told by someone who is not a firsthand source that McIntyre will be back in time for the Christmas shows. Meltzer also noted that Drew McIntyre is not supposed to be out of in-ring action long-term and that he is expected to be back in a couple of weeks, which is the way things stand right now.

This is what Dave Meltzer said:

“No, he is injured. I was told an injury, but it’s not from a firsthand source. But he’s supposed to be back for the Christmas shows. So it’s only a couple of weeks, I know that. The only thing I know is that he wanted to wrestle and they wouldn’t let him wrestle. It’s not supposed to be a long-term thing, at least as it stands right now.”
