Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of the WWE last May 16th reportedly due to creative differences they had with Vince McMahon and the direction the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships were headed. Prior to their walkout, Naomi was reportedly negotiating a new deal with WWE, while Sasha Banks’ deal with the WWE will expire sometime later this year, according to former WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide.
Vince McMahon has since stepped down has CEO and Chairman of the WWE and he is no longer in charge of the WWE’s creative as well. Now that Triple H has been placed as the Head of Creative for the WWE, it seems that several former WWE Stars could be making their returns to the company, including Naomi and Sasha Banks. Saraya (F.K.A. Paige in the WWE) took part in a media scrum at the Starrcast V Event and said she thinks Naomi and Sasha will eventually return to WWE now that Triple H is in charge of their creative as they are such a big part of the women’s revolution.
This is what Paige said:
“Obviously she’s a big part of it.” “I mean, everyone loves Sasha Banks, right? So the four horsewomen in general is such a big and critical part of the women’s revolution. So, I think she’ll be back [to WWE]. I think now with Hunter [Triple H] in charge, and kind of like taking the reigns and everything.”
“Just SummerSlam, in general, showed how much WWE has changed overnight. I mean, I don’t think anyone’s really been 100% happy with the pay-per-view in a long time and people are walking away from SummerSlam feeling like ‘holy s**t, this is a turning point.” “So, I feel like eventually, you know Sasha and Naomi in my opinion will come back.”
Paige then spoke about if she was to return to the WWE sometime in the future, then she would love to face Sasha Banks in a match and possibly even current AEW Star Britt Baker, but she will do so if the right time and person comes along.
This is what Paige said:
“If I was to return, I’d love to face Sasha just because we have a built-in storyline, and she’s just a fantastic wrestler.” “I’d love to face Britt Baker, I think she’s incredible. But yeah, I have to be careful. I still have that mind block right now, but eventually, for the right time and the right person, I’ll definitely have a match again – for sure.”
