Rhea Ripley Excited For WWE’s 2024 Elimination Chamber in Australia and Sheamus’ Future Contract Uncertainty

In a fresh turn of events, WWE has disclosed that its 2024 Elimination Chamber event, aptly named ‘Elimination Chamber Perth,’ will be held on February 24, 2024, at the renowned Optus Stadium, Perth, Western Australia. This revelation marks the first instance of WWE launching an event in Australia since 2018.

WWE, in collaboration with the Western Australian Government through Tourism Western Australia, declared their eagerly awaited return to Australia for a globally televised Premium Live Event (PLE). The multipurpose Optus Stadium, nestled in the culturally rich capital of Western Australia, has been the venue for many celebrated sports and entertainment ventures since it opened its doors in 2018. It is the setting for the only PLE in the Asia-Pacific region in 2024.

Speaking about this historic development at a press conference, WWE Senior Vice President Chris Legentil lauded Perth as an ideal location for staging a significant WWE Premium Live Event. Legentil is optimistic about leaving a lasting imprint on Western Australia and the entire WWE Universe.

Fellow WWE professional and Australian native, Rhea Ripley also expressed her excitement, stating, “Get ready Australia because Mami is coming home.”

Information regarding general ticket on-sale and event updates will be shared in the forthcoming weeks.

Meanwhile, in other WWE developments, Sheamus’ current contract is reportedly due to expire in 2024, according to Fightful Select. The situation remains uncertain as to whether it will be renewed or not, given that several other WWE talents, including Becky Lynch and Drew McIntyre, are also due for contract renewals in the same period.

Adding to the roster of contract news, IYO SKY recently revealed in an interview that her WWE contract was initially set to expire just one month after SummerSlam 2022. Delighted about her recent victory, SKY shared that her sense of responsibility has increased. SKY also voiced her anticipation for her WWE Women’s title match against Asuka, with whom she shares past collaborations in Japan.
