Roman Reigns Wont Miss His Scheduled WWE Appearances Due To Injury

The main event of this past Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event saw Undisputed WWE Universal Champion “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Jey Uso in a Tribal Combat Match, which means that not only will Reigns’ championship be on the line, but his Tribal Chiefdom as well. The ending saw Jimmy Uso pull his brother Jey Uso from on top of Roman’s body to cost him the match, the championship and the Tribal Chiefdom.

Dave Meltzer reported shortly following this past Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam that Roman got injured in the matchup against Jey Uso, but it is unclear what exactly his injury is. Reigns reportedly suffered the injury early on when Jey Uso hit an outside dive on The Tribal Chief and landed on his back. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select noted that they also heard Reigns’ injury happened early on and while it was mentioned after SummerSlam that Roman was not advertised for any WWE TV appearances over the next few months, there have been no plans for him to miss any of his internally scheduled appearances, but that could always change.

Both Meltzer and Sapp confirmed that Reigns will be appearing on WWE SmackDown tomorrow night for his Hail The Tribal Chief segment and as of Tuesday night nothing has changed, but those who would likely be in the know in a creative capacity for WWE TV, more specially Friday Night SmackDown has not heard about the injury until word came out not too long ago.
