This past Saturday’s WWE Extreme Rules Premium Live Event saw “The Baddest Woman On The Planet” Ronda Rousey beat Liv Morgan via referee stoppage when she locked in her submission to become the brand-new WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion for a second time. Ronda Rousey took to an episode of her video gaming stream to talk about an idea she pitched for the finish of the WWE SmackDown Women’s Title Match.
According to Ronda Rousey, she wanted the finish to involve thumbtacks and Liv to introduce them. The idea was for Liv Morgan to go for a powerbomb into the thumbtacks, but Ronda would reverse Morgan and put her in a submission hold with the former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion on top of the thumbtacks, though it was turned down as she was informed that thumbtacks aren’t allowed anymore and legally they can’t purposely injure people and cut their skin off.
This is what Ronda Rousey said:
“Yeah, actually I pitched the finish to be on thumbtacks [at Extreme Rules but it was turned down]. She [Liv Morgan] put down thumbtacks and powerbomb me onto the thumbtacks and then as a repeat of our finish before, I would go for the arm bar on the thumbtacks but they start counting the pin but then I would have to push up onto my one shoulder, like into the thumbtacks to keep the arm bar on… and Liv would be biting her hand trying not to tap and then pass out face down into the thumbtacks and have her hand there to protect her face. But, they said we can’t do thumbtacks anymore. That legally, we can’t purposely injure people and cut their skin and stuff. I don’t know, so I was like, ‘Well, how about tiny, little maple leaf pins?’ They’re like, ‘No.’ I’m like, ‘How about a bunch of screws? There on the side, it’s the ground.’ They said, ‘Nope.’ So…”
Ronda Rousey was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018 and she could be on her way as a WWE Hall of Famer as well somewhere down the line. Morgan was seen smiling as she passed out and lost the bout at WWE Extreme Rules.
