Triple H Makes A Surprising Change To Gunther’s WWE Name

Triple H recently took over the WWE’s creative and since then a lot of big changes have happened such as several former WWE Stars being brought back, an improvement in the storylines including booking of the matches and the characters and wrestling fans being excited once again. WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H, who is also the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and the Head of Creative would make a number of changes to the wrestler’s names as well, a mistake former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon did that Triple H is fixing one by one.

Some of those names include Riddle and Theory, who got their first names back a few weeks ago as well as current WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER, who was previously known as WALTER. The current WWE Intercontinental Champion’s name was first changed to Gunther, a move that was largely hated by fans, but it did not seem to damage the credibility or affect the leader of Imperium in any way as his push and his run has been dominant so far over the past several months.

Fightful.com’s Sean Ross Sapp reports that Gunther’s name is now being changed internally to GUNTHER, which is a callback to his WALTER ring name that was always shown in all caps and this has led to fan speculation that the WALTER ring name could eventually return, but that has not been confirmed yet.
