William Regal’s Potential WWE Return Has Been Discussed

Last Wednesday night’s post-Full Gear episode of AEW Dynamite featured an in-ring segment between Jon Moxley, William Regal and Bryan Danielson, where it looked like Regal was being written off of AEW TV when Moxley warned him that he should never show his face again. It was then speculated that Regal is headed back to the WWE, but that will apparently not happen at least until next year.

Dave Meltzer responded to a fan in regards to the segment and revealed on a recent Wrestling Observer Radio Program that Regal returning to the WWE has certainly been discussed, but his contract won’t be up for a long time and he signed a one-year deal with the company, which is still several months away from expiring. Meltzer also noted that it would not surprise him if Regal does return to the WWE, but AEW President and CEO Tony Khan will and can make him a better offer to stay with AEW and Regal’s AEW contract will probably all be explained soon.

This is what Dave Meltzer said:

“I would just say that when his contract is up, it would not surprise me. Tony can make him a better offer and all that. It is certainly something that has been discussed. I will just say that.”

“His contract is not up for a long time. I think was only a one-year deal…I was told a date but it might be wrong but it was still months away. Several months away. I don’t know what the situation is. I think it will probably be all explained.”

WWE Chief Content Officer and Head of Creative Triple H did acknowledge Regal by posting clips of his previous WarGames announcements.
