WWE Has A High Interest In Former Top IMPACT Wrestling Star

Former NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion and former IMPACT Star Nick Aldis was someone WWE had a major interest in and wanted to sign, but Aldis was reportedly a casualty of a hiring freeze in WWE earlier this year as WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was looking to close the sale of the company from Endeavor as well as merge the WWE into a new company with the UFC.

Following his highly successful run in the NWA, Nick Aldis returned to IMPACT Wrestling last April at their Rebellion PPV Event and has been chasing the IMPACT World Championship since. Aldis took on the reigning IMPACT World Champion Alex Shelley at Slammiversary this past weekend, but came up short and he then worked with Eric Young in a match at this past weekend’s TV tapings that will air this coming Thursday, which will be his final appearance with the promotion.

According to PWInsider Elite, several WWE sources have told them there is high interest in Nick Aldis now that he is free and clear and that his name has been discussed internally as a potential producer in recent weeks. There is no word yet on if WWE has discussed Aldis as an in-ring competitor as well, but updates will be provided once it has been made available.
