WWE Has Advertised A Gimmick Match For Their Payback Event

WWE is set to hold their 2023 Payback Premium Live Event on Saturday, September 2 from inside the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with the Premium Live Event airing on Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network everywhere else. The first match of this year’s Payback Premium Live Event has already been advertised in international markets and on WWE Main Event and that match is WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus taking on “The Man” Becky Lynch in a Steel Cage Match.

This match was made after weeks of back and forth between the two and repeated match cancellations as well as Trish finding a way to get out of their scheduled matches. Last week’s episode of WWE RAW was no different despite Zoey Stark being banned from ringside as the Singles Match would end in a double count-out after Stratus and Lynch fought their way to the concessions area before Zoey Stark attacked Lynch to help Stratus. WWE official Adam Pearce then announced that he has had enough of Zoey and the WWE Hall of Famer’s shenanigans and made the Steel Cage Match official, but didn’t reveal a date.

As of this writing, the WWE has not yet officially announced the match on their social media accounts or their website.
