WWE Has Known For A While That The Rock May Not Be At WrestleMania

WWE will be holding their WrestleMania 39 Premium Live Event on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2 from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California and the company is looking to stack their card and make it the biggest WrestleMania of all time based on recent reports of who the promotion wants to bring back and the matches they want to have.

One of the matches WWE is hoping to have is for The Rock to take on Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in the main event of either Night 1 or Night 2 of WrestleMania 39, but the promotion was looking to finalize the main event plans by this January and it was believed The Rock had to give WWE an answer regarding his status for The Show Of Shows prior to next month.

As previously reported, The Rock’s status for WrestleMania 39 hasn’t been set in stone yet and unless he changes his mind in the next few days since the deadline for a decision is soon, he will not be at WrestleMania because he feels like he doesn’t have enough time to get into the kind of shape he feels he needs to be in for the potential blockbuster matchup with Roman Reigns.

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that WWE has known for months that The Rock may not be at WrestleMania 39 and that he couldn’t get in the shape he wanted to be and many people are even under the impression that The Rock’s potential match against Roman Reigns will not be happening, but anything is possible and it’s certainly possible that Rock is just keeping everything a secret from every single person except maybe one or two people and that The Rock is just swerving people and he will end up competing at WrestleMania.

This is what Dave Meltzer said:

“Anything is possible, and it’s certainly possible he could be keeping everything a secret from all by one or two people, but the word is that he doesn’t have the time to get in the shape….All along, if he has the time to do it, he will do it. Put it this way, most are of the opinion that it’s not happening, and it’s been for months. Those on the inside thought the odds were not good based on that thing because (his schedule)….There’s no such thing as 100% because it’s a very secretive business. Within the company, it’s not looking good.”
