WWE NXT Ratings Bounce Back, But Key Demo Slips

One big thing: NXT viewership rises, demo falls

WWE NXT’s August 13 episode saw a significant viewership increase but a surprising drop in the key demographic rating.

By the numbers:

• 617,000 average viewers, up 16% from the previous week
• 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic, down 12% from last week

Why it matters:

The viewership boost suggests a return to normalcy after recent schedule disruptions, but the demographic decline raises questions about NXT’s appeal to younger audiences.

Digging deeper:

• Highest viewership since July 23, before Olympics-related channel changes
• 1% decrease from the trailing four-week average
• 13% drop compared to the same period in 2023
• 30% decline in 18-49 demo from the trailing four-week average

The big picture:

While NXT’s return to its regular time slot on USA Network has helped overall viewership, the show is struggling to maintain its hold on the crucial 18-49 demographic.

What’s next:

With the No Mercy Premium Live Event approaching on September 1, NXT will need to focus on attracting younger viewers to reverse the demographic trend.

What do you think is causing NXT’s decline in the 18-49 demographic despite the overall viewership increase? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
