As previously reported, the ending of last Tuesday night’s episode of WWE NXT 2.0 saw a video package narrated by WWE Hall of Famer and Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels air and it was in the video that Michaels talked about how the WWE NXT brand has been and always will be about developing the stars of tomorrow, but they will always reflect and acknowledge the past. The WWE Hall of Famer also said NXT is constantly evolving with a focus on their future and their WWE NXT Superstars will develop and move on, but their message will never change and that they are NXT.
The video would then end with the brand’s multi-color logo fading and it being replaced by an updated version of the black and gold logo (with more white and gold), apparently teasing that the brand will be undergoing a huge change.
Fightful Select reports that WWE will be reviving the TakeOver name for their NXT brand and that they will be using the name for their upcoming NXT Halloween Havoc Event, which will now be called WWE NXT TakeOver: Halloween Havoc. The TakeOver name was dropped when Vince McMahon took over WWE NXT and the brand was revamped to WWE NXT 2.0 and instead of TakeOvers, the WWE held events such as Heatwave, New Year’s Evil, WarGames, Stand & Deliver and In Your House and they were held as Premium Live Events on Peacock and the WWE Network.
Since Triple H took over the WWE’s creative, a lot of big changes have happened and NXT 2.0 returning to its roots is one of those changes, with the TakeOver event name making its return as well. WWE NXT TakeOver: Halloween Havoc is set to take place as a Premium Live Event on Saturday, October 22nd.
