WWE Star Was Called In The Day Of The Show For SmackDown Appearance

At earlier this month’s WWE SummerSlam Event, Asuka defended the WWE Women’s Title against “The Queen Of WWE” Charlotte Flair and “The EST Of WWE” Bianca Belair in a Triple Threat Match. Belair would win the highly-physical matchup and become the new WWE Women’s Champion, only to be immediately cashed-on by Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY. After the successful cash-in, Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY, who is now the current WWE Women’s Champion, celebrated in the ring with Bayley and Dakota Kai.

Dakota Kai, who has been sidelined with an injury, revealed at the post-WWE SummerSlam press con that although she is still a ways away from returning to in-ring action from her torn ACL injury, she only came to SummerSlam to celebrate with her Damage CTRL stablemate. Kai then revealed on her Twitch that the company asked her the day of the show to fly to SummerSlam and even though she had a flight delay due to mechanical issues, she still made it to the show.

Kai would then make an appearance on the post-SummerSlam episode of WWE SmackDown as well, but wasn’t part of the beat-down angle with her Damage CTRL stablemates, Charlotte Flair and Asuka. According to PWInsider.com, Kai was not initially scheduled to appear on SmackDown, but she was called at the last minute to fly to the show.
