WWE WrestleMania 41 Set for Easter Weekend in Las Vegas

One Big Thing

WWE WrestleMania 41 will take place in Las Vegas on April 19 & 20, 2025, marking the first time the event has been held so late in the month and over Easter weekend.

Key Points

  • Typically, WrestleMania has taken place in late March or early April.
  • Las Vegas, the host city, specifically requested the Easter weekend dates.
  • The city is paying a site fee for the show and hopes to boost tourism during a traditionally weak weekend.

Why It Matters

The decision to hold WrestleMania 41 over Easter weekend signifies a shift in WWE’s approach to scheduling its biggest event of the year. By accommodating the host city’s request, WWE demonstrates the value it places on its partnerships and the economic impact WrestleMania can have on a region.

Backlash in Lyon, France

In related news, it was recently reported that the host city for WWE Backlash, Lyon, France, did not pay a site fee for the event. Despite this, Backlash saw the “largest gate of any arena show in WWE history,” according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. However, pay-per-view interest for the event was “the lowest in history for a WWE show.”

Future WrestleMania and Royal Rumble Locations

Saudi Arabia has expressed interest in hosting a future WrestleMania or Royal Rumble event. WWE is set to return to the Kingdom for King & Queen of the Ring on May 25, 2024.
