Sami Callihan, a former IMPACT World Champion, stirred the pro wrestling circuits as he officially became a free agent on September 30, exiting the IMPACT Wrestling scene. This decision by Callihan, cited due to contractual disagreements, has sent waves through the pro wrestling fraternity, sparking speculation and drawing attention from some of the big names in the business.
Jon Moxley, a noteworthy figure in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), is reportedly interested in bringing Callihan onto the AEW roster. Their history dates back to 2009 when both were part of The Crew and subsequently, The Switchblade Conspiracy. This dynamic duo also share a past of rivalry, clashing severals times across different independent promotions.
Callihan’s free agent status does not only intrigue Moxley but also has caught the eye of WWE’s Karrion Kross. On his Twitter handle, Kross hinted at opening the WWE door for Callihan, reminisce their shared past. He wrote, “I held this title proudly, Sami. You always brought out the most vicious side of me, which always took me to my next level. I heard you’re a free agent now. Let me return the favor and open a door for you that you once opened for me.”
The title Kross referred to was the REVOLVER Championship, a prestigious title he held for 84 days back in 2019. During this tenure, Kross and Callihan had been part of a ‘Cage of Horrors’ match, contributing to their rich shared history.
However, Callihan is not a novice to WWE. He joined the WWE back in May 2013 after securing a dark match in October 2012. Despite making his television debut in February 2015, Callihan, or Solomon Crowe as he was known then, was seen mostly at live events and dark match-ups. His run with WWE ended in November 2015 when he was released from his contract.
