At this past January’s 2022 WWE Royal Rumble Premium Live Event, then-WWE Champion Brock Lesnar faced Bobby Lashley in Singles action, with the WWE Title on the line. This was the first match between two of WWE’s biggest and most dominant Superstars and it ended with Bobby Lashley beating Brock Lesnar to become the new WWE Champion thanks to the involvement of Paul Heyman and the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley then faced each other for a second time at the WWE Crown Jewel Premium Live Event last Saturday from Saudi Arabia, with Lesnar picking up the win over Lashley after The All Mighty dominated majority of the match and Lesnar kicking the turnbuckle and landing on Lashley for a surprising pinfall victory. WWE has had plans for quite some time now for Lesnar and Lashley to go up against each other for a third time as that is something Lashley hinted as well this past week during an interview.
Dave Meltzer reported on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that WWE originally had planned to do the third match at the Day 1 Premium Live Event in January, but that event has been nixed and it remains to be seen when the third match takes place, though there are several options of when the match could be booked such as Survivor Series or WrestleMania.
This is what Dave Meltzer said:
“The story of the match is that Lashley totally dominated him, but Lesnar won the match. It leads to they’re one and one now, and there’s a natural third match…..I don’t know if they’re going to save it for WrestleMania, or I don’t know when. Originally it was going to be Day 1, but obviously, that’s out. I don’t know if they’ll do it at Survivor Series. I don’t know….I’m not sure where they’ll do it. They may do it in Montreal or save it for Mania.”
