Mark Mero Says Guaranteed WWE Contract Left Him Feeling Like an Outcast Backstage
Mark Mero revealed that receiving one of WWE's first guaranteed contracts, along with a signing bonus, made him feel like an outcast in the locker room during his 1990s run with the company. Speaking on Chris Van Vliet's show, Mero explained that wrestlers didn't want to work with him and he felt he had a target on his back, noting that stars like Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mick Foley had joined WWE months before him but didn't receive the same contract security.
