Chris Jericho remains with AEW following speculation that he would appear at the WWE Royal Rumble last weekend. The speculation about Jericho's potential WWE Royal Rumble participation proved to be unfounded.

Dominik Mysterio may return to WWE television as early as tonight's RAW in Philadelphia, with PWInsider reporting that the Intercontinental Champion is "expected back imminently" following his recovery from a shoulder injury. Mysterio has been sidelined since December 20, 2025, after suffering the injury during a tag team match at AAA's Guerra de Titanes when his father Rey Mysterio reversed a suplex into a DDT. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter previously reported that he wouldn't require surgery and was only expected to miss "three to four weeks."

A WWE main roster star who hasn't been seen on television since October has commented on his tag team's recent return. The wrestler addressed making an in-ring return on NXT programming.

Batista definitively stated he will never wrestle another match when asked by Jason Momoa about a potential return to the ring, responding "No. Never." The former WWE star last competed at WrestleMania 35 in 2019 in a retirement match against Triple H. According to a previous report, Batista's absence from the WWE Hall of Fame has been due to scheduling conflicts with his filming commitments rather than any backstage issues.

Tommaso Ciampa's departure from WWE was amicable with no anger from Triple H, according to Sean Ross Sapp during a Fightful Select Q&A. WWE kept Ciampa in a storyline with Ilja Dragunov until late in his deal that made him look good on television. Ciampa debuted in AEW last week and won the TNT Championship from Mark Briscoe in his first match.

According to a Fightful Select Q&A, WWE's belief as of the start of the year was that Brock Lesnar was planned for SummerSlam 2026, which is set for Minnesota. Sean Ross Sapp reported this information but noted he wasn't sure whether WWE would tie it into a retirement angle. Lesnar appeared at the 2026 Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia but did not win the match, and had a run-in with Oba Femi during the event.

Fans at the 2026 Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia chanted "We Want Vince" and "You f**ed up" at Triple H during the post-show segment, but WWE sources indicate there has been no internal reaction backstage to the crowd hostility. According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select, Triple H has faced similar negative crowd reactions since WWE introduced the permanent post-show format at SummerSlam 2025, including chants of "AEW" and "You f**ed up" after John Cena's retirement match in December 2025. Despite the repeated incidents, WWE has no plans to scale back Triple H's post-show involvement or adjust the format.
