AEW’s Grand Slam episode of Dynamite, which will reportedly be the company’s biggest Dynamite episode and show in history as well as most likely AEW’s highest attended show ever and also the largest non-WWE crowd for U.S. pro wrestling since 1999 as the company is looking to fill up Arthur Ashe Stadium, will be AEW’s first-ever stadium show and the first wrestling show ever hosted by the tennis complex.
The Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York can accommodate to at least 23,000 fans for tennis and it was expected that at least 20,000 fans will be in attendance for AEW’s Dynamite if the show will sell out, but the capacity of the show was reportedly set to 17,000 fans initially, though it was reported by the official Twitter account of WrestleTix that at least 16,403 tickets have already been sold and since additional sections have reportedly been opened, AEW is looking to sell at least 18,692 tickets for AEW Dynamite’s Grand Slam episode.
It was also reported that if AEW can sell 18,692 tickets, then the company can open up more seats and they may even reach a total of 19,000 to 20,000 tickets sold, which was already expected at first, as the news of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan expected to sign with the company is the reason for ticket sales to get a significant boost or even sell out completely.
Tickets for the Grand Slam episode of AEW Dynamite went on sale last Friday, July 16th at 10AM ET via AEWTix.com and Ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices for Dynamite are $100 (First Three Rows Floor Ringside Seating), $75, $50, $35 and $20. AEW Dynamite’s Grand Slam episode is set to take place on Wednesday, September 22nd.
