AEW CEO Breaks Silence on Rating Wars

July 8 was marked by the WWE’s (World Wrestling Entertainment) NXT: The Great American Bash and AEW’s (All Elite Wrestling) Fyter Fest. Here is what their ratings look like.

Both NXT: The Great American Bash and Fyter Fest put up some really interesting matches with exceptional performers. It was not easy to decide which one to watch, so the audience kept switching the channels back and forth.

We saw The Dark Order and Colt Cabana beating Social Uncensored; Kenny Omega and Adam Page defeating Private Party. Mia Yim lost against Candice LaRae on the yellow brand in a street fight. Isiah Scott was beaten by Johnny Gargano.

The main event of the Fyter Fest was Orange Cassidy defeating Chris Jericho. Cassidy’s performance was surprising, but it was easy to guess that Le champion would go over. During the main event of NXT: The Great American Bash the North American Champ Keith Lee defeated NXT champion Adam Cole thus ending his 403-day long run. NXT: The Great American Bash had more audience than Fyter Fest on Wednesday.

For the most important audience of the age of 18 to 49 Dynamite episode won, having 715, 000 viewers on TNT. Tony Khan tweeted that being the 7th show on cable is a huge win.

What could bring the AEW’s rating up? Adaptation to iGaming platforms

Wrestling would be a perfect match for iGaming platforms. iGaming is becoming more popular across the globe. In addition to the traditional gambling forms such as poker tables, slot machines, roulette tables, and sports betting the iGaming providers offer not only tournaments and competitions in video games.

New-age casinos already offer different adaptations of popular sporting events through mobile live casino option which is very handy for international players. In the past the iGaming platforms have already adopted some very popular games, such as Super Mario. Many characters from comic books and movies, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Iron Man, etc.

While there are over a hundred professional wrestling video games, licensed by WWE and other wrestling organizations, they do not offer a wrestling game version for iGaming platforms. The games are available on consoles such as Xbox and PlayStation. So, why not adapt them for iGaming platforms? Wrestling is a perfect sport to adapt to iGaming.

The online gaming industry would benefit a great deal from it, and so would wrestling. The rating battle between WWE and AEW might be finally resolved if they promote their stories on iGaming platforms. Online entertainment is especially popular now because so many live matches have been suspended. Wrestling, which is not only competitive but also such a great show, is a good fit for sports betting fans too.

“You’re Completely Missing The Fun” – Former WWE Superstar On AEW-WWE War

Dax Harwood, AEW Wrestler tweeted recently about WWE constantly trying to win the audience over AEW. He said that when one company tries to win over another one all the fun is wasted. As a child, he loved watching Hart Foundation as well as NWO. WWE only focuses on business and does not really enjoy wrestling by appreciating AEW instead of trying to overshadow it.

Most recently WWE NXT: The Great American Bash and AEW Fyter Fest were scheduled the same day at the same time and split the audience. WWE ranked higher than AEW. AEW took some superstar wrestlers from WWE recently and has some interesting recruits of its own too. The stories and matches are exciting. Harwood asked the fans to just enjoy the shows, and realize how lucky they are to have so many options and so many professional wrestling competitions to watch, instead of getting into a feud.
