AEW Dynamite Viewership Drops For Road Rager Special Episode

Last week’s episode of Dynamite, which was the company’s return to Wednesday nights, was able to draw a total of 883,000 viewers, while this past Wednesday night’s episode, which was the promotion’s Road Rager special episode, was able to draw a total of 871,000 viewers, Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics reports.

This total is down 1.4% from last week’s Dynamite, which drew a rating of 0.33 in the 18-49 key demo. This rating is down 5.7% from last week’s rating of 0.35 in the 18-49 key demo. The rating of 0.33 in the 18-49 key demo represents around 422,000 total viewers who watched this past Wednesday’s Dynamite from that demo. This is down 6.63% from last week’s 452,000 total viewers in the 18-49 key demo.

Last Wednesday night’s Road Rager episode of Dynamite featured Andrade El Idolo’s in-ring debut as he faced Matt Sydal in a Singles Match, the Chris Jericho – MJF face-off, Cody Rhodes vs. QT Marshall in a South Beach Strap Match, and AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks defending their AEW World Tag Team Titles against Eddie Kingston and Penta El Zero Miedo in the main event. This past Wednesday night’s Road Rager episode of Dynamite also featured the debut of Malakai Black.

The viewership number of last Wednesday night’s Road Rager episode of Dynamite, which drew the second lowest audience since NXT moved to Tuesday nights, was up 21.8% from the same week in 2020, which was going head-to-head against WWE NXT at the time, while the 18-49 key demo rating was up 17.9% from the same week in 2020.
