AEW Had To Cut Down Time Of Blood And Guts Match

The main event of this past Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite saw The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Santana and Ortiz) take on The Pinnacle (MJF, FTR, Wardlow and Shawn Spears) in a Blood And Guts Match. The ending of the match featured MJF threatening to throw Jericho off the top of the structure, with Guevara giving in and surrendering to MJF’s demands. After the match, MJF with his heel persona still tossed Jericho off the top of the cage and through a crash pad.

The Blood And Guts Match reportedly lasted most of the second hour of Dynamite, but Dave Meltzer said on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that AEW had to lessen about four minutes of the match to end the show on time, which came in the opening moments of the match as a spot in the match was supposed to take place that was about five minutes.

This is what Dave Meltzer said:

“They shaved a lot of time by the way..it was actually about four minutes.”

Bryan Alvarez then added that it was probably due to the Kenny Omega segment going longer than it was supposed to, where he cut a promo about facing either Orange Cassidy or PAC at Double or Nothing.
