AEW is of course broadcasted on TNT, and as with any TV network, shows such as AEW have to follow set guidelines to ensure they don’t upset their TV station. This led to one match needing to be heavily edited on dynamite last week.
This week on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer told viewers that AEW had to edit The Good Brothers‘ match on Dynamite in a big way. Apparently, they were making jokes about ‘jacking off’ and ‘taking marijuana’ to the extent where AEW felt they had to edit this down a lot.
“That match last week on Dynamite with the Young Bucks and Gallows and Anderson against the Dark Order. That was the most edited match in the history of AEW, not because they botched moves, but because Gallows and Anderson kept doing jacking off stuff and pot stuff and stuff like that. They had to edit all those references off the television, so that was a little secret about last Wednesday’s show.”
The good Brothers have a brand of humor that doesn’t fall in line with censors. AEW were also forced to edit out marijuana jokes when the inner circle visited Las Vegas.
