AEW Not Denying Rumors On Tony Khan’s Huge Announcement

AEW President and CEO Tony Khan is set to reveal a huge announcement during this Wednesday’s Dynamite from the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. According to a reports from Super J-Cast and Ringside News, the announcement could be regarding an AEW and NJPW Supershow, which is rumored to take place in Chicago, Illinois, possibly during the third week of June. It was also mentioned on the report that the name of the rumored Supershow has yet to be determined and the matches that will take place haven’t been decided as well. There is also a possibility that Tony Khan’s announcement will be regarding a TV deal for Ring Of Honor or even a streaming deal for AEW’s content, but that has yet to be confirmed and it is merely a speculation for now.

Dave Meltzer talked about the huge announcement AEW President and CEO Tony Khan will be making during this Wednesday night’s episode of Dynamite, when he appeared on the Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast and said that timing-wise, it makes the most sense if Khan’s huge announcement is about ROH getting a TV deal or a streaming deal, but the rumors of an AEW and NJPW Supershow wasn’t confirmed nor denied, so there is definitely something to that.

All Elite Wrestling has had a working relationship with NJPW since the promotion was launched back in 2019 and since then top stars from both promotions have appeared on the other show such as Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho appearing in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), and Satoshi Kojima, KENTA, Ren Narita, Rocky Romero and Minoru Suzuki appearing in AEW.

NJPW would even announce that weekly episodes of AEW Dynamite and Rampage will air soon on NJPW World and fans who are already subscribed to the streaming service will be able to watch the programs at no additional cost. NJPW also announced that a live “Japanese version” of All Elite Wrestling’s programs will air as well, which probably means that the shows will be having Japanese commentary.
