AEW Reportedly Signs Top ROH Star Brody King

ROH (Ring Of Honor) previously stated that they will be going on a hiatus immediately following their Final Battle: End Of An Era PPV, which took place this past Saturday, December 11 from the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. ROH also stated that, along with their hiatus, they will be releasing their entire roster.

Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net reports that top ROH Star Brody King has apparently signed with AEW as it was teased by AEW Star Malakai Black during last Wednesday’s Winter Is Coming episode of Dynamite, when Black appeared in a video vignette with an unknown person, who’s face was covered. Malakai Black then spit black mist in the person’s face and told him, “you are so much more than a King,” which was believed to be a tease for Brody King to join Malakai Black’s “House of Black” stable.

A number of fans have taken to social media and have mentioned that the vignette was filmed in King’s house, so it appears that the top ROH Star has indeed signed with AEW. Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net also noted that King signed with AEW immediately after ROH announced their hiatus and that Brody King was told during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend that his AEW signing was a done deal.

Brody King made his pro wrestling debut back in 2015 and has since worked for promotions such as MLW, ROH, NJPW, PROGRESS Wrestling, EVOLVE Wrestling and GCW. King worked for ROH from December 2018 until this past Saturday’s Final Battle PPV. King is a one-time ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion and the current PWG World Tag Team Champions with Malakai Black. King also worked with NJPW since 2018 due to his ROH contract. There is no word yet on if his AEW contract will prevent him from working with NJPW moving forward, but updates will be provided once it has been made available.
