AEW Revolution Reportedly Being Moved To A Different Date

An announcement was made at AEW’s 2020 Full Gear PPV that their next PPV called Revolution will be on Saturday, February 27th. Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Revolution will no longer be taking place on February 27th since that date has been discussed as a possibility of when YouTube star Jake Paul’s next major boxing PPV will happen.

Dave Meltzer then noted that Saturday, March 6th or Sunday, March 7th have been discussed as possible new dates for Revolution, but it has yet to be finalized. Meltzer also mentions that AEW’s lowest PPV buy was the 2019 Full Gear PPV, which went head-to-head with Logan Paul’s fight against KSI, which is why they are avoiding clashing with a major boxing match for future AEW PPV Events.

The promotion has yet to make an official announcement regarding any date changes, nor has a Jake Paul boxing bout been confirmed, but updates will be provided once it has been made available.

Revolution will reportedly still take place at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida, which has been the home of AEW since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. As previously reported, AEW Revolution will feature Sting’s first match in AEW. He will team with Darby Allin against Team Taz’s Ricky Starks and Brian Cage.

Given that Sting is 61 years of age, it is most likely that his match will be a cinematic match or at the very least, AEW will tape his match prior to Revolution to protect the icon, despite Sting saying that he feels great.
