AEW Star Files To Trademark His Own Name

This past April 25th, AEW Star Griff Garrison filed to trademark his own name with the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) under the entertainment services and merchandise categories. This trademark filing was done with the help of Michael E. Dockins, who has helped a number of AEW talents in the past to file their trademarks as well.

On the June 10th, 2020 episode of Dynamite, Garrison made his promotional debut for AEW, where he lost a Singles Match to Jimmy Havoc. Garrison would be paired up with Brian Pillman Jr. and together they found success in a tag team called The Varsity Blonds. He has even worked for promotions such as Anarchy and ROH prior to joining AEW.

Below is the use description submitted to the USPTO:

“G & S: Hats; Socks; Shirts; Sweatshirts; Hooded sweatshirts”, as well as for “G & S: Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring a professional wrestler and sports entertainer in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes.”
