AEW Star Returned From Injury Much Sooner Than Expected

During this past Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, AEW World Trios Champions Death Triangle (Penta El Zero Miedo, Rey Fenix and PAC) defended their AEW World Trios Championships against AR Fox and the reunited Top Flight (Dante Martin and Darius Martin), but Fox and Top Flight would unfortunately come up short. Darius Martin had been out of action for a number of months due to a car accident and prior to his previous return, he was out of in-ring action for 13 months due to an injury.

According to Fightful Select, several people within AEW thought Darius Martin would not be back until early next year and they even thought his return came much sooner than expected. In November of 2020, Top Flight (Dante Martin and Darius Martin) signed their All Elite Wrestling contracts. Before Darius Martin’s return to action on AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday night, his last match for the promotion took place on an episode of AEW Dark, where he, Dante Martin, Frankie Kazarian and The Hardys took on Angelico, Max Caster, Private Party and The Blade in 10-Man Tag Team action.
