AEW Star Says Being An Interim Champion Is Bullsh*t

Former WWE Star and current AEW Star Shawn Spears hasn’t been active in the storylines for quite some time now and he has only made a handful of appearances over the past several months, but that doesn’t mean he can’t give his opinion when it comes to being an Interim Champion. Jon Moxley was the Interim AEW World Champion for a number of months before beating former AEW World Champion CM Punk to be a 3-time AEW World Champion.

On the womens side of things, current AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa is currently out of in-ring action due to a back injury and instead of AEW President Tony Khan stripping Thunder Rosa of the AEW Women’s World Championship, he decided to crown an Interim AEW Women’s World Champion. Toni Storm would end up being that Interim AEW Women’s World Champion until this past Saturday night’s Full Gear PPV Event, when she lost the championship to Jamie Hayter, but Storm herself questioned the status of being an Interim Champion as she would have wanted to face Thunder to crown an Undisputed AEW Women’s World Champion.

Shawn Spears doesn’t like the status of being an Interim World Champion as well and he addressed that on Twitter by writing, “This “interim” stuff is bullsh*t. You’re either the Champion, or you’re not.” Spears last competed for AEW on the October 13th episode of AEW Rampage when he and FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) defeated The Embassy (Bishop Kaun, Brian Cage and Toa Liona) in Trios action.
